During the update of iSii v5.2.3. or v6.0.0 to iSii v9.0 the error message 'update configuration failed' arises when processing the iSii installation.
What should I do now?

 Answer 

There are two problems and two solutions in this case
  1. You know in advance that you will have to preform an update from version 5.2.3 or 6.0.0 to version 9.0.0 or higher and take the appropriate measures.
  2. Failed to update from version 5.2.3 or version 6.0.0 to version 9.0 or higher.

To perform an update from version 5.2.3 or version 6.0.0 to version 9.0, an intermediate step to version 7.0 is required. For this you need the following.
  • iSii installation software version 7.0.9.0
  • License version 7.0
    • Please contact the sales department for this
  • iSii installation software version 9.0.0 or higher
  • License version 9.0 or higher
    • This is already provided by the sales department normally
Follow the steps below.
  1. Create an image (See attachment  'AcronisTrueImage2014_create_v2.pdf')
  2. Make a data copy / backup
  3. Run the update version 7.0. During the installation an error message may occur that ends with the text "ReplacePrototypes.exe". This happens when updating an iSii version 5.2.3 or version 6.0.0 systems. The error message appears while processing the iSii.msi, which is before stopping the control station. Follow the procedure in the enclosed manual (procedure solve error 1722.PDF) and download 'HHpathRegKeys.zip' from the attachment.
  4. If the update is successful, another Image can be created (')
  5. Make a data copy / backup
  6. Run the update to version 9.0 or higher.
  7. If the update is successful, another image can be created (See attachment 'AcronisTrueImage2014_create_v2.pdf')
  8. Make a data copy / backup

If the installation of version 9.0 or higher has already started and the error that ends with the text "ReplacePrototypes.exe" (error 1722) appears, follow the steps below.
